Young Children

Did you know that the American Academy of Pediatrics’ first line treatment for ADHD in young children is Parent Training? Children with ADHD often do not respond to the same parenting strategies that work well for other children.

We work with parents of young children to learn targeted, concrete strategies to help increase cooperation, reduce power struggles, and create effective routines and structure that return a sense of calm and enjoyment to family time at home.

Middle Grades

We work with children and parents together to help increase awareness of ADHD symptoms and how they are affecting children at home, socially, and at school.

We help increase self-awareness, self-esteem, and effective communication so that parents and children can work as a team to find strategies and routines that work for each child and family.

Adolescents

We work with adolescents to help them understand their personal strengths and weaknesses and the ways that ADHD impacts them at home, at school, and with friends.

Understanding their personal pattern of symptoms helps prevent teens from blaming themselves for ADHD-related struggles. When shame is reduced, teens are empowered to experiment with various strategies and routines and create a unique and personalized toolbox of effective strategies.

Adults

These days, many people are diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood after a lifetime of being blamed or shamed for the impact of their symptoms. If you find yourself chronically struggling to complete tasks, stay organized, or to keep track of time or appointments, you might be one of the many adults with ADHD.

We help adults with ADHD learn to see themselves as separate from their symptoms of ADHD and understand the ways that ADHD may have affected their self-image or emotional well-being. With this understanding, we then work together to help clients identify their strengths and create a set of strategies that will allow them to pursue their goals and build the lives that they want for themselves.
